Update on Michael Land

Well lets see Michael Land....

The Queen didn't have the best of birthdays. She didn't feel special and spoiled and loved. She got her gifts early so there was no anticipation of gifts. She had to make breakfast that wasn't happy. She went to make her birthday ham dinner and the ham was still frozen. No cake and no singing.

So there was a redo on Sunday but even that was lame. Next year my little subjects will get it together.

Chad had his first band concert of the year! I will have to see if I can get the video from the video cam on here. For anyone who has not heard this monkey is playing the trombone this year not the clarinet like last year, and not the sax like he spent a year babbling on about switching to. It was slow going at first, but he has it now and is loving it.

Alice is dealing with the foot issue and stressing over finals. She is glad the physics projects are over for a couple weeks. She has 1 more trimester of physics and the teacher told the class the hardest projects were this term. So this term she had to build a catapult that they shot water balloons at the teacher with. They built mouse trap cars. This last one was a device to unscrew a bottle of water and pour it in a cup. Her projects have not all turned out so well. Good thing they are not the biggest part of her grade.

Rachel and Grace did their state testing yesterday. This is the testing that tests them over the stuff they learn for the entire year. So there are plenty of things on the test that they haven't learned yet. They missed the benchmark by 1-5 points in both math and reading. We are schooling all 3 younger girls using Connections Academy. It is a good program, but it has its downsides too. These 2 girls are really excited about Activity days. Tonight is an awards night. They really are enjoying that.

Jilli is picking up the reading a little faster. She loves to do her school work most days. She also just loves her little friend Elizabeth and can't stop talking about her first sleepover with her.

Prince Charming is well a happy little mini poodle
.
Isn't he just cute? He brings a lot of happiness to the Queen.
SO the King of Michael Land?
Well he is busy as usual. He is now the Boyscout advancement person in our ward, so he is even busier. They have a court of Honor next week so that is sucking up his spare time. Poor guy is still working 2 jobs and tired. His health is way better. His liver is doing much better. Still takes those turns once in awhile, but not bad.
OK stay tuned for Christmas projects I have been working on!
And on that note I am off to work on a project!
