Summer camps

Well today is the day we pull it all out to make sure we have everything and start packing day. Alice goes to girls camp on Monday. Rachel gets to go up on Thursday for Valiant day. I have some hemming to do for these girls today too.
SO for all those who have emailed me, stopped me out and about, called me, or asked at church
EGB will be back at Camp Ireland this year. Alice had so much fun working as a camp councilor for cub day camp last year. We went yesterday to turn some paper work in. The person helping us asked what camp she was working at and when Alice told her the lady said "oh that is such a fun camp and yet it is so hard to staff." Hmmm.... well my daughter never wants to leave! She wants to go back and be a councilor there for as many years as they will let her. The adults that she has interacted with there are wonderful caring people. The other youth staff have been a lot of fun and she has made some great friends. So starting the week after Girls camp Alice will be doing cub camp until the end of the first week in August. Then she will begin looking for a "real" job. She said mom I really need my own car. Mom said "get a job!"
Chad goes to scout camp in July. He worked hard and sold all the wreaths he needed to so he could pay his own way to camp. He actually sold enough to help send another boy too. He did a great job. He is already looking forward to November and wreath sales again. He needs to do some extra things to earn a little $$ to pay for his EXTRAS at camp. Things like the shooting range and basketry project.
Next year we will have 3 of them off at camps. My house will seem a bit quiet with so many gone. Chad will be old enough to start volunteering at Ireland next summer and that is something he has expressed an interest in. We'll see.
SO for now have a great Father's day weekend.
