the 80's are back!

Last month the 4th graders went ice skating! Grace was so excited to go. Her teacher told the class to be sure to dress warmly. Grace was talking about how cold her legs get when she is playing in the snow. SO I said how about I crochet you some legwarmers and an ear warmer?

So for the ear warmer I think I chained oh gosh 50? to make a "ring" that fit over her head. I used a caron simply soft and a Patons' cha cha(I think) together to make this. So then I did like 6 rounds of half doubles and this just slips down over her head around her ears.
OK the leg warmers were a little more tricky! She wanted them kinda long. SO they are ch 55 and then Half doubles again and you do it only in the back loops so it makes a rib pattern and I think I did 28 rows and then slip stitched it closed to make a tube. I then did a round of singles around each end to finish them off.
These were quick and fun! I am told they are just cool to wear and I need to make more and Rachel wants some too now!
