Jello Popcorn balls

OK I have been makig these for a couple years now. The kids love to help make them and of course they love to help eat them! I got this one from my friend JoAnne, thanks girly friend. Try out several different flavors of Jello and see what you like best. We have done them with pretty much every flavor. I think they are really sweet so I wont eat them, but the kids are another story!

Jell-O Popcorn Balls

1 cup granulated sugar 1 cup light corn syrup
3 oz flavored Jell-O 1 cup un popped popcorn
Butter
Pop the popcorn in a hot air popper. Bring the sugar and the syrup to a rolling boil on the stove in a non stick sauce pan. Stir constantly to avoid scorching. Turn off heat and mix in the Jell-O. Pour mixture over popcorn. Mix together well. Allow to cool for just a couple of minutes. Butter hands and start forming the popcorn mixture into balls. place on a cookie sheet or wax paper to set. Butter hands often to avoid sticking. Mix often to help get the mixture all over pop corn. After they have set for about 30 minutes place into individual storage bags.
