First let me say I don't know how to get rid of the box in the middle of the screen about photo bucket being removed. It just showed up.
OK so we are not from Utah, so we have no pioneer ancestors in our family tree. We just find it fun to celebrate pioneer day. The youngest 2 girls went to a primary activity today and had fun. The oldest 2 are going to a party and then a dance. As for the rest of us we will eat a hearty taco soup and corn bread for dinner and then have yummy pumpkin bars for dessert. We will let the girls do sparklers tonight too. We sing songs from the primary hymnal mostly. My favorite is Come, come, ye saints.
Someone on Facebook asked for my pumpkin bar recipe, so here it is.
Pumpkin Bars
2 cups flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp baking soda
4 eggs
1 cup oil
2 cups pumpkin puree
I just toss it all in the mixing bowl and turn it on and let it do its job. Pour into an ungreased jelly roll pan and bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes or till a toothpick stuck in the middle comes out clean.
Let it cool for a couple of hours and then frost with yummy cream cheese frosting
8 oz softened cream cheese
1/2 cup softened butter
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups powdered sugar.
I put it in the fridge after frosting.
So hope you enjoy!
