100th post

Well this is my 100th post. If I were all hip I would have a give away. In the middle of buying a house I don't have time for such a thing, so I will have to do it later.

This weekend we celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. I can't believe we have been married for 17 years. Life has had all kinds of bumps and twists and turns along the way, but I wouldn't have wanted to take this wild ride with anyone other than my wonderful husband. We are so lame. You want to know what we did to celebrate? Well after we said our good byes to my mom in law who was here visiting, we went for a drive. Where did we go you ask? Well we drove out to stare at our new house and day dream. Then we decided to explore our new little town a bit. It was nice to talk and spend that time together.

We are getting to be in the home stretch now with the house. If the paperwork time line sticks to the plan our wonderful mortgage broker gave us we should be signing papers the end of the week. It is all so exciting!

All around me all I seem to see are packed boxes. We are nearly packed. I still have the essential kitchen things out, but the kitchen is getting packed up too. I think I will make my goal of having it all packed in time for moving day!

We went to church in our new ward yesterday. We really enjoyed it and are looking forward to making it our home ward for many years to come. We met so many new people, I know I am not going to remember them all when we go back in 2 weeks. The really funny thing is the Deacon Quorum advisor is Brother Michael. Yes that is right, there is another Michael family in the ward. I found myself saying a lot yesterday "we are the new Michael family. No I don't think we are related to the other Michael family." So they asked me to share a little something about myself in Relief Society. What do you say? I hate being put on the spot like that. I just said we have 5 kids and I am a sahm. I just didn't know what to say. I guess I could have said I homeschooled for years, I love to craft, sew, and scrapbook. I love to bake and cook for my family and I love a holiday celebration! I could have also added I am a total Christmas addict! Oh well always time to let people get to know me and find all these things out themselves. Alice is the only Laurel. The whole young women's program is pretty small. I think she said around 6 girls all together and most of them are Beehives. The Deacons Quorum is almost as big as the entire Young Mens program in the old ward. They are a big group. The younger girls seemed to have fairly good sized classes and Rachel and Grace are in different classes in this ward.

Well the kids are all registered in their new schools. Just waiting to find out who their teachers are and their class schedules and what not. Alice has hers. It is her senior year. **SNIFF** She is taking the normal senior English, pre calc, government, econ, and then she is adding in web design, elementary tutoring, and auto shop. She said she should know how to take care of a car if she is going to be driving. I said maybe it will be a good place to meet a guy!
Rachel has decided not to do band and Grace will be starting the clarinet this year. Chad picked band, basic guitar, technology, and movie making. Hope he gets them all.

Well back to packing I go. I will try and find time to update after we sign! It will probably be the last time I get to post before moving day. I know everyone is waiting for pictures too. I feel bad that I never think to grab the camera when I drive out there. I promise I will have it the day I move and I will take some pics then!
